A new adventure starts

Today we had an information meeting about the ONL201-course - it was nice meeting seven colleagues from Linnaeus University who, like me, will take this course.

Looking forward to meeting my PBL-group and other participants in the course!

Pathways for networked collaborative learning

Pathways for network collaborative learning is the title we chose for the pictogram that my PBL-group (Group 7) produced as the outcome for Topic 3: Learning in communities - networked collaborative learning. During this topic, our group really walked the talk! We had an interesting discussion about the topic in general, highlighting its complexity and the many perspectives that can be considered. We used the 🐟-document to document our ideas about various foci-areas and things to explore. We worked on the fish document while everybody was online so we could - as a community - create new ideas with the help of each other's throughts. We decided to make a pictogram using Canva and we explored together how to use it - again in a very collaborative way, not just letting the person who is good at one thing do it, but encouraging and helping each other to test the various functions and options. When I signed up for the ONL-course, globalization was taken for granted and online learning was embraced by a smaller portion of my colleagues. When the course started, it was nice to meet so many people who share the same interests as I do related to digital tools, online learning environments etc. Now, facing the new Corona virus/Covid-19 we suddently experience a significantly modified way of living (understatement?). Teachers at our university had to switch to online learning with one day notice (!).  Our present experiences in these challenging time make the topics of this course extremely relevant and I can't wait to see the results of research about the giant steps into the world of online teaching & learning that were taken within education all over the world. Collaborative learning - when interaction with other's thoughts is at its best My journey through ONL keeps providing lots of food for thought about many different issues. Reflecting on my own ways of learning and on how our PBL-group is evolving is an important part of this educational exercise. Another significant part consists of being introduced to tools and resources that I had only heard about before but never used, and some that I even had not heard about and that turn out to be fascinating and useful. The week of reflection and catching up passed very quickly. I spent some time reading and getting inspired by the blogs of other course participants.
